Well this was the big number 2. My little Chloe turned 2 yesterday. But Friday night Melanie was babysitting Chloe while we went to a Christmas party. When we picked Chloe up, Mel said that she put herself to sleep in Matthews big boy bed all by herself. So Michael and I decided that maybe it was time to convert her crib to a big girl bed. That was the first thing we did on the big day. Don't get me started on trying to find the right screw in this entire town to convert the bed. So here is Chloe sleeping in the bed for the first time.
Then Melanie came over to set up THE CAKE. Isn't it awesome? She did such a good job. Everyone loved it, and it was the hit of the night. That is my cutest niece Allison smiling so big by the cake.
Here is the birthday girl. She is holding a Barbie, wearing new high heels, glasses, jewelry, and fairy dress. She was pretty ornery opening presents, because we kept taking away the toys and trying to get her to open new ones. But after we let her play with her new toys, she was a lot happier. Then she finished off the night in her big girl bed. When did my daughter turn two? She is such a big girl.

Halloween
I'm finally getting around to posting my Halloween pictures. This was Chloe's first year trick-or-treating (because she was so sick with her skin peeling off of her that we didn't go last year). As you can tell from the first picture, she was not a huge fan of her costume. But if we took of her hood, she would tolerate it. Then she found out she got candy, and that is when it got really fun. We partied with the Glines family, visited G & G Mansfield, GG & GG Bergquist, and GG Mansfield, and visited the rec. center. It was so much fun. I think that I had more fun showing off Chloe, than she had trick-or-treating. She is getting even more fun the older she gets!

Girls Night In!
As many of you may already know, Chloe likes Spongebob, more like she is obsessed with him! Well, when dad works nights, Chloe hops up in dad's spot on the bed, takes the pillow, tucks in her animals and says "Spongebob?" We usually get to read stories, and go to sleep in a quiet room. But when dad is away, I have a hard time telling that face no. Have you ever tried?

Winnie the Pooh
So, my little Chloe has started to recognize cartoon characters. She loves Spongebob, and Winnie the Pooh. The other day she remembered that she had this swimsuit. She took it and showed dad, well dad helped her put it on. She loved it and thought it was so great that she wouldn't let me take it off. We went to town and ran errands, and I was the only one embarrassed. Who would have thought that my not even two year old would tell me how she was going to dress.

The Big One!
Well the day finally came, and Michael got to go to his once in a lifetime elk hunt on Anthro Mountain. He left on Friday, and was so excited. There were a few casualties on the mountain that weren't elk. First it was the tire. Popped! There's an unplanned added expense to this elk hunt. Eli took Michael all over the mountain waiting to find the perfect elk. Then they found it. Michael took the first shot, and the elk remained unscathed. After five more shots, the elk had had it, and took off. So Michael had to settle for this beauty.
Michael got this one on the first shot. But then it took quite a few more bullets for this bad boy to go down. Although I don't know if every bullet hit the elk. But thanks to Eli who stood by Michael's side, and helped to load those bullets every time Michael emptied the chamber. And at three dollars a bullet, that expense also added up. So the real casualty was the checkbook.

Update
This blog goes out to my nephew Benjamin. I know how much he has been worrying, and I thought that he would like to see my cool scars. The top is just a week after the surgery, and the bottom is about a 2 1/2 weeks. It already looks really good. My dear sweet sister Melanie says that it looks like my scar is smiling at her. I said no, it is laughing at her! Anyway, I feel really good, and I get to start my radiation on Tuesday, and then I should be finished for awhile. Thanks to everyone who helped with so much and for all my family who helped babysit Chloe for a couple of days. And thank you for all your prayers, I really appreciate it! We love ya!

Chloe loves to ride with dad!
If Chloe sees her dad coming home, she wants to run out and get a ride in the truck. Sometimes dad will take her for a ride around the block and she thinks it is the coolest thing ever. Mostly she will just climb up in the truck and try to buckle herself in and grab the steering and go "Vroom, Vroom." It is so cute.

Sit!
These pictures are a little old, but the kid gate has to do with the story I'm going to tell. Chloe loves to go to the kid gate and call to the dogs so that she can pet them, or let them lick her face, or just to talk to them. Well last night I had given her a bag of Sponge Bob Crackers, and she thought that was great. I saw her run down the hall, and heard her calling the dogs. I thought, "Oh great, there goes her snacks." We've been trying to teach her not to feed the dogs her snacks, or her dinner. So I was getting ready to send the dogs outside so that I wouldn't have to deal with a sad baby. But I watched her for just a minute more, and she started saying, "Sit Max, sit Max." Then she would feed them a treat. The dogs didn't have a clue what she was saying, they were there for the snacks. I thought it was so cute, even though sit doesn't always sound like sit.

Why it has been so long since I have posted.
So this is what I have been doing for the last little while. Don't these stitches look wicked bad? They feel about the same as they look. Well a few weeks ago I had a lump in my throat checked out, and it turned out to be thyroid cancer. So Dr. Catten said we need to remove it. So Thursday I got my entire thyroid removed. And to be honest with you I thought that I was pretty tough, but I was not near as tough as I thought. This hurt like the Dickens. I am doing so much better now, and I am home resting. I will have to do a radiation treatment in like six weeks, than I will have a scan every year for five years. But the worst part is over. If you look really close at the picture you will see the staple marks around my wound from where the Dr. stapled the drape to me. I would think maybe tape, or something would have worked just as well.

Glines Reunion
This was the Glines Reunion, we started at the Dinosaur Monument thingy. Michael was pretty focused on finding those dinosaur bones during the dig that he didn't even notice me take the picture until afterwards. Chloe absolutely loved running around with her dad.
Then it was off to the new recreation center, which by the way is so cool. Chloe is not at all afraid of the water. If I don't hold on to her all the time, she is okay with walking into the deeper parts of the water. So I have to keep my eye on her all the time. I have to watch Michael too, he is not a very good swimmer. Sometimes I have to remind to walk, and not run on the wet floors.
The next day we headed to Iron Springs to go four wheeling, and my dad let us borrow his motorcycle. Chloe loved going for rides. Just so long as she didn't spill her smarties while we rode. That made her upset. When it wasn't her turn to ride, Chloe walked around to each person and made them share whatever snack they were enjoying. That is why she has such a messy face. She is such a lunch mouth. The reunion was so much fun, and everyone was able to be there. That hasn't happened for a little while! Hopefully next year will be just as fun.

New Rec Building
We went to the new recreation center, and Mike decided to try the new slide. The life guard said he has never seen anyone make such a large splash. I will post more later about our Glines family reunion, I just wanted to try the video feature. Sorry this is sideways, I know how to rotate a picture, but not a video.

My Garden
Here is a picture of my little girl stopping to smell the flowers. This was actually really lucky, because if you can't tell in the next pictures, she is swinging at the daisies. She thinks that flowers are more fun to pick!
This is my small garden. I am so proud of it this year. I haven't killed any of the flowers yet. In fact, if you look close enough, you will see two of my tomatoes that are turning red!! The others are still a little green. But the fact is that I grew some veggies. The green peppers are in pots on the step, and they are doing even better than the tomatoes. The daisies are starting to spread, even though I didn't know that they would get so big so fast in the front, because I wouldn't have planted some of the other small flowers that you can't see anymore. Anyway, I was so happy that they all lived this year. There is still time, it is only July!

Memories!
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :) If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

First Boat Ride Ever!
Chloe has been to the beach before, but this is her very first boat ride. Michael had just finished helping his dad unwinterize, wait, dewinterize, um I don't know what it is called, Anyway, they had finished preparing Dennis' boat for summer, and we took it to Steinaker to see if it would run. Chloe thought it was great, and would just sit and laugh on the bumps. We may just have to go to the lake every week now. Don't I have the two cutest redheads around?

Day at the Beach!
We went to Steinaker last week with Melanie, Allison, and Matthew, Julia, Reagan, Max and Kennadee, and Stephanie and Tommy. We had so much fun. It was cold & windy at first, but then the sun came out, and it was such a fun day. Michael had the day off and got to come with us. We had a picnic, and Chloe wanted to eat more than she wanted to swim. She loves Cheetos, Fritos, and the Chloe created "Sandos." That's my girl.

Four day weekend!
Well we are home from the weekend at aunt Amber's. Mom, Melanie, Me and kids went to visit for four days and to scrapbook our little hearts out. We also stopped in Logan to visit little brother Mikey, and new wife Megan. Two Mikes and two Megans is going to be confusing, I know. The weekend was so much fun, and there were a lot of new places for a tiny girl to get into trouble.
We noticed we hadn't seen Chloe for a minute, but we could still hear her. So we were really quiet, and found her in Amber's island. She had crawled up to the second shelf and
We noticed we hadn't seen Chloe for a minute, but we could still hear her. So we were really quiet, and found her in Amber's island. She had crawled up to the second shelf and
started eating the flour. Needless to say, she was a mess. Derek, watch out, you have some competition in the finding trouble department. It was fun, but it was good to come home and see Daddy.
This was my first post, we'll see how it goes!
